PRLog (Press Release)– Aug 01, 2011– LOS ANGELES – Building up to its Grand Finale in February 2012, chevrolet the L.A. Comedy Awards (LACA) will host the Producers' Choice Nominations at M Bar in Hollywood, CA, on August 23, 2011 from 6 bmw :30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
"At the L.A. Comedy Awards, we pay it forward. In addition to our sponsored Celebrity Achievement series, we like to support hard working comedians so that they can position themselves for broader audiences, including television, film, and radio. What we strive to do is raise their value," said Executive Producer Max Worthington.
Several recipients have utilized these awards to gain successful footing in their careers. After LACA nominated Angela Manfredi, producer Neil Hassman chose her for their Tickled Pink Comedy Tour. Additionally, when comedian Perry Kurtz won his award it added credibility to his career, which then opened up new venues for him.
David Ruben, an Independent Mix Master, who works with Greg Broadmore at WETA (King Kong and District 9), received the Most Hilarious Radio Ad along wi acura th Broadmore. Ruben said, "Winning the LACA award was a highlight that cemented my working relationship with WETA."
Worthington founded LACA and the N.Y. Comedy Awards in 2008 after working alongside Al Bowman, the founder of the L.A. Music Awards. Through the awards show, Worthington strives to recognize independent comedians on their talent, popularity, determination, participation and the recipient's potential for commercial success.
The same artist who makes the Walk o rc helicopter and car market place f Fame stars cuts the Awards that LACA gives to its recipients. LACA created an original Gold, Silver, and Bronze Star set.
